WiFi Camera in a Smoke Detector Imitation

WiFi camera in a smoke detector imitation is a discreet camera designed for online monitoring of homes, offices, warehouses, or other indoor spaces. Thanks to its design resembling a standard smoke detector, it blends naturally into the interior and does not look like a conventional security camera. Depending on the required viewing angle, the device can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. The integrated lens provides an image in Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 px. Built-in 2.4 GHz WiFi connectivity allows the camera to connect to a smartphone and display a live view through the LOOKCAM mobile app. The camera does not have a memory card slot and does not support local storage of video recordings. It is primarily designed for live online viewing via a mobile phone. The camera is equipped with a built-in 500 mAh battery, allowing short-term use without a permanent power supply. For long-term online monitoring, it can remain continuously connected to a power source, ensuring 24/7 operation without the need for regular recharging. The battery itself takes approximately 30 minutes to fully charge. Thanks to the combination of a discreet design, Full HD image, WiFi connectivity, LOOKCAM app, and continuous power option, it provides a practical solution for discreet online monitoring of your own indoor spaces.

Full HD image and online monitoring via smartphone

The camera provides an image in Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 px, allowing you to monitor what is happening in the observed area from your smartphone with a sufficient level of detail.

The main purpose of this camera is live online viewing via WiFi. Once the camera is connected to the network and paired with the mobile app, you can view what is currently happening directly on your phone’s display.

It is important to note that this model does not have a microSD card slot and therefore does not support local storage of video recordings on a memory card. The camera is particularly suitable for users who need to remotely check a monitored area and do not require recordings to be archived on a memory card.

2.4 GHz WiFi and LOOKCAM mobile app

The WiFi camera in a smoke detector imitation supports 2.4 GHz WiFi connectivity and works with the LOOKCAM mobile app. Once the camera has been configured, you can view the live image on your smartphone and use the device’s supported functions directly through the app.

During the initial setup, we recommend connecting your phone to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network and placing the camera close to the router. If your router uses the same network name for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and the connection cannot be established, temporarily separating the two WiFi bands may help.

After successful setup, the LOOKCAM app serves as the main interface for accessing the camera. There is no need to connect the device to a computer – you can view the current camera image directly on your mobile phone.

500 mAh battery and continuous 24/7 operation

The device features a built-in 500 mAh battery, allowing the camera to be used without a permanent connection to the mains. According to the available information, a full charge takes approximately 30 minutes.

The manufacturer does not specify the exact battery life per charge. Based on the battery capacity, approximately 1–2 hours of active operation can be expected, but this is only an estimate and is not a manufacturer-guaranteed specification. Actual battery life depends mainly on the intensity of WiFi use and online viewing.

For long-term use, the camera can remain continuously connected to a power source, enabling 24/7 operation. This solution is particularly recommended when you want the camera to remain available for long-term online monitoring without the need to recharge the built-in battery regularly.

Discreet smoke detector imitation for wall or ceiling mounting

The device resembles a conventional smoke detector, with the camera lens integrated directly into its housing. The WiFi camera in a smoke detector imitation therefore does not look like a conventional security camera with a prominent lens and visible mounting bracket.

Depending on the layout of the room, the camera can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. Ceiling mounting provides a view from above while also corresponding to the typical placement of smoke detectors. Wall mounting may be more suitable when you need to achieve a specific viewing angle within the room.

When choosing the installation location, it is important to consider the position of the lens and ensure that furniture or other objects do not obstruct its field of view. We also recommend choosing a location with a sufficiently strong WiFi signal, as the camera is designed for online monitoring.

The device is only an imitation of a smoke detector and does not replace a functional or certified smoke or fire alarm.
